Anjappar - Chettinad cuisine

This is a first for me to have Chettinad Cuisine. Ong came here before and felt that the food is nice and brought me here to try it out.
We took the MRT and alighted at Little India MRT station and walked a short distance over.

Service were rather prompt and we could see that the place was packed. The orders were taken via PDAs and drinks were served very quickly.

We ordered different types of coffee to try.
The milk is placed separately as shown in the picture.
I wasn't sure how to go about mixing the milk in, but we were not a big fan of milk coffee so didnt mix them together in the end.

They serve plain water in metal tin containers like this.

If you ordered a lot of dishes, you probably have to wait a while as they tend to serve your dishes all at once so that you could enjoy all the dishes with your briyani

Fish Tikka with mint sauce 

The Fish was tender and not dry. The meat was not flaky and really tasty. And the mint sauce really added more flavour to the dish.

Would really love to have the Paneer Butter Masala again the next time we visit. The staff recommended us to try the Sura Puttu , which was shark fin fried in scrambled egg curry.
The Sura Puttu was not very flavorful so I end up finishing the whole dish.

Quail Biriyani

Initially, we thought that it will be Quail egg Biriyani but it turns out there was a whole quail underneath the pile of rice. The dish wasnt exceptionally good but it complements all the other dishes well.

Garlic Naan

The Naan was tasty and definitely worth the try.

Overall, we enjoyed our meal at Anjappar and would most likely visit again when we are craving for Chettinad goodies.
