Inle Kitchen - Peninsula Plaza

Its been a long time since we tried myanmar cuisine. As usual, we will always go to Peninsula Plaza at cityhall to get our stomachs filled whenever we feel adventurous enough to try something different.

The basement of peninsula plaza is a hangout place for foreigners from myanmar, thailand, vietnam where authentic food from their hometown are served at an affordable price.

Its a different kind of atmosphere.

Inle has a casual dining restaurant as well as a simpler non fuss version in the food corner known as Inle Kitchen. They had a similar menu at Inle Kitchen with no added service charge.

We spent a total of S$17.50 for
1) Pickled Tea Leaves Salad - S$6.00
2) Mohinga - S$5.50
3) Nangyi Thoke - S$5.00
4) 2X Hot Tea - S$ 1.00

Pickled Tea Leaves Salad

The appetizer whets the appetite well. Its crunchy and interesting as it has different kind of texture. Its the first time we ate tea leaves in a pickled version. I
We are able to take salty stuff at above average level and this to us was considered pretty salty, so we do not recommend it to those who cant take salty stuff.
We initially felt that the taste was unusual but on our second spoonful , we became accustomed to it.

My Mohinga - Fish Broth noodles
The serving was adequate for me. For S$5.50, I would say that its pretty worth it. There are combination of different textures in this bowl of noodles. From the crunchy fried cracker to the soft spongy vegetable, the Mohinga was a nice experience for me.

His Nangi Thoke - Myanmar Spaghetti (Dry)
Served with a bowl of clear soup, his Nangi Thoke certainly looked more delicious than my Mohinga. The combination of all the ingredients in the dry version of Myanmar Spaghetti prove to be enjoyable.
He finished the whole bowl within minutes.

Overall, We loved the food there. Would certainly be back again to try other dishes.
